How the dates are worked out
There is no single date. Each director in office before 18 November 2025 gives their code with the company's next confirmation statement filed in the transition. A PSC who is not a director has the first 14 days of their birth month.
The transition runs 12 months from 18 November 2025 (Companies House); trade sources say it ends 18 November 2026.
Directors
A person who was a director before 18 November 2025 gives their code with the company's next confirmation statement filed in the transition (SI 2025/1118, regulation 4(2)). The statement is due 14 days after its made-up date, so that due date is the director's last day. Anyone appointed on or after 18 November 2025 gives the code in the appointment filing.
PSCs who are not directors
The first 14 days of the birth month. Regulation 5(2) fixes the year: December 2025 for December birthdays, January to November 2026 for the rest. If born on 24 February: 1 to 14 February 2026 (the Companies House example).
PSCs who are also directors
The window is 14 days, starting the day after the confirmation statement date (regulation 5(3)). Statement date 31 March 2026: 1 to 14 April 2026 (the Companies House example). It does not move if the statement is filed early. Where a director-PSC's details are protected, the birth-month rule applies (regulation 5(2)(b)).
PSCs added after 18 November 2025
When first added, or within 14 days of being added.
The register wins
Companies House shows each person's dates on the register. When our lookup can read the register's own date, we show that date and mark it "From the register".
Not covered here
Corporate directors, LLP corporate members and limited partnerships: Companies House says these come later. We do not list secretaries: regulations 4 and 5 cover directors and PSCs.
